Energy determines how many casts you can make per session, adding a strategic layer to each outing. XP and gold are earned with every successful catch. Bait can be used to target higher rarities—Small Bait boosts rare fish odds, while Big Bait improves legendary fish chances. Gear progression plays a major role, with upgradeable rods, reels, iceboxes, and charms that improve catch rates, XP gain, and loot chances. Beyond fishing, the game also includes a full cooking system. Caught fish can be crafted into sashimi dishes through a chance-based mechanic—shiny fish NFTs increase cooking success. Dishes yield pearls, a secondary in-game currency used to spin a prize wheel offering rare loot, bait, and seasonal points. Competitive players can join Frenzy Mode, a short real-time tournament where 10 players fish simultaneously to win exclusive chests. Weekly leaderboards (divided into free and VIP tiers) reward top players with NFTs and in-game currency. Pearls, earned through cooking, are used on a prize wheel with dynamic pricing. Rare items like shiny fish and rod NFTs can be minted and traded on the Ronin marketplace for $RON. The game has no native token yet, but players accrue Frenzy Points—an off-chain currency that will be redeemable for token airdrops in the future. Economy sinks like rod repairs, limited-use bait, and cooking failures keep inflation in check. Fishing Frenzy is developed by Uncharted, a crypto-native studio led by Derek Lau, formerly from Immutable and also founded Guild of Guardians. Alongside him is JW, a serial entrepreneur and Web3 founder since 2017. Backers include Shima Capital, Spartan Group, Zynga’s co-founder, and Immutable’s co-founders as well.
How to Get Started
Fishing Frenzy is free to play and accessible via FishingFrenzy.co or the Telegram app. New players can log in via email or social platforms. You can also log in using a wallet if you want, such as MetaMask, Ronin Wallet, and Wallet Connect. You begin with a free rod. The tutorial walks you through your first catches, sales, and gear upgrades. No NFT purchase is needed to progress. As you level up, you’ll unlock new features, earn daily rewards, and can optionally purchase the premium Battle Pass (25 $RON) for bonus items and pet NFTs.
